About Us

Rojo Mojo Designs was created by Digital Artist Rohan who grew up in Melbourne in the 80's and 90's surrounded by a lot of American influences. Two that stood out for Rohan was NBA basketball and Hip Hop music. He loved shooting hoops with his mates while listening to the latest Hip Hop blasting through his ghetto blaster. When not in his school uniform he would be seen wearing his favourite baggy t-shirts, hoodies and rocking the latest Filas or Air Max shoes like his NBA heroes.

 

Rohan also had a love for art and graffiti was one style of art that stood out to him in his early days. He always found himself drawing and creating characters from what he saw on graffiti magazines or on the walls on his train rides to the city. As he arrived at High School he always wanted to draw things that was out of the ordinary and he was drawn to artists such as Escher, Salvador Dali and HR Giger to name a few. These artists took their ideas and painted scenes such as melting clocks and optical illusions of fish turning into birds.

 

When Rohan left school he started working as a Graphic Designer to continue his love for drawing which lead into acrylic and oil painting just like his favourite artists did. After 10 years in the Graphic Design world Rohan decided to step away from art to pursue a new love in the fitness industry as a Personal Trainer. With this career change his artistic side took a back seat in order to focus on developing his skills as a Personal Trainer.

When the Pandemic and Covid hit everything including the Personal Training was put on hold due to lockdowns world wide. With a pause on his fitness career Rohan rediscovered his love for drawing and painting over the lockdown period in order to keep himself busy and to see if he still had the love for painting and creativity. As the lockdowns ended and life started to return to normal, Rohan moved into Digital Art and he taught himself how to draw digitally to use his art on a digital platform.

 

This journey has allowed him to rediscover his enjoyment for drawing characters and he started developing concepts for use as NFTs. Not being comfortable with the volatile crypto market he decided to use his characters and illustrations to launch a streetwear clothing brand and design hoodies, t-shirts and caps that he wore as a kid. This development of his clothing brand led to the creation of Rojo Mojo Designs. The main focus was to offer people imaginative and clever designs with a modern streetwear feel to wear out or just around the house. He wanted these to be eye-catching, comfortable and affordable to the community.
